Ayurveda Paragon

The hotel is located 130 km south of the capital of Colombo, on the south coast of Sri Lanka, with coconut palm fringed beaches stretching along the Indian Ocean. The sparkling blue green sea and the small coral reefs set the scene for swimming, surfing and snorkeling. The hotel was constructed in 1996 by a student of the famous tropical architect Geoffrey Bawa.
The hotel is designed perfectly suitable for the tropical climate of the island. The Health Centre of the hotel ranks among the best of the island – as the only resort in Sri Lanka to be given the highest award of “Ayurvedic Pharmacy” by the Sri Lankan Ministry of Health. Four highly qualified Ayurveda doctors and more than 50 therapists look after your well-being. According to the Ayurvedic tradition, treatments for male and female guests are strictly separated by gender. Nearly all of the treatment-rooms face the sea so you can enjoy your therapies with the soothing sound of the Indian Ocean.

Accommodation

The rooms are separated into Standard Rooms, Roof Terrace Rooms, Junior Suite and the Suite 420. The sea breeze provides for natural cooling of the rooms throughout the year. For good reasons, these do not contain television or Internet connections. The absence of media distractions will help you to find rest, contemplation and relaxation. Ceiling fans and mosquito nets provide the additional comforts and give a tropical ambience. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms as this would inhibit the success of your cure. From the ayurvedic point of view, cooling down the body prevents ayurvedic treatments from unfolding their full effects, especially during your Shirodhara treatments.

Resort Facilities

The resort is complete with a swimming pool, herbal baths, herbal showers and an ayurvedic sauna. The sauna has been built strictly according to traditional guidelines, using snatural materials. The shopping arcade has exquisite, selected pieces of clothing and jewellery, Sri Lankan art and drug store articles. You can have unique pieces of clothing made from the resident tailor or self-designed jewellery made by experienced goldsmiths.
