Stafford Estate Bungalow

Stafford Bungalow is a heritage tea plantation bungalow, built by the pioneering Scottish planters in 1884. Located in the outskirts of the Hill resort of Nuwara Eliya, the bungalow stands amidst a stunning tea estate a 50 acre working tea plantation, one of the finest tea fields in the world. Guests can share the experience of living in this exclusive bungalow within a private and stylish ambience. The bungalow is a fine spot to rest and rejuvenate while savouring the cool climate of the ‘Tea Country’. There are many walking trails that wind their way through the luscious tea bushes, and the ‘Blue Grass’ garden of the bungalow is the best rest placing to have tea and immerse yourself in the Colonial past.

Accommodation

Stafford has 4 spacious bedrooms each with its own character and ensuite bathrooms, namely, the Master suite, Deluxe room, Family suite and De Lux with a garden view. All rooms are tastefully refurbished with furniture, wooden floors, and have bathrooms with rain water showers and elegant layout. A cosy, study/snug, adds to the charm and is furnished with reading chairs. The bungalow is also family-friendly and has its own nanny room and a cot on request.

Master Suite

The spectacular Master Suite is a large master bedroom with four-poster bed set and a private sit out.

Deluxe Rooms

One of the two Deluxe rooms has doors leading out onto the front lawns beyond, offering a refreshing openness to the direct view of the tea plantations. The other, set in between the two suites, overlooks the landscaped rear garden.

Family Suite

A large Family Suite which is sectioned off to sleep up to 4 persons in 2 separate areas is ideal for a family with small children.

Hotel Facilities

Guests are free to explore the estate. The Estate contains walking trails mountain biking routes and tea trails. You can visit the tea factory and also take part in a unique tea-tasting experience. The private tennis clay court is available for playing tennis. Facilities are also available for cycling and playing board games. There’s a games room detached from the main bungalow.
