Our tour guide, Thushara, was honestly one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. Nothing was too difficult for him, always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable as possible. His knowledge of Sri Lanka is unbelievable.

Our guide, Thushara, was extremely knowledgeable about Sri Lankan history, food, lore and establishments. He freely shared information even as we were driving through different provinces. He was even able to help us choose local restaurants, and it seems there was no area he wasn’t familiar with.

We had a 2-weeks private tour around Sri Lanka, which was our second big trip around the country. Your guide Thushara made our journey very easy and enjoyable, considering we had to make adjustments on the go due to recent cyclone, which caused flooding and landslides.

Little Bit More About Me.
Q. Describe Sri Lanka in 3 words.
Natural, Cultural, Welcoming
Q. Where is your favourite place to visit in Sri Lanka?
Wilpattu National Park – Sri Lanka’s largest park, renowned for its unique natural lakes, dense forests, and thriving wildlife, including leopards, elephants, and sloth bears.
Q. What Sri Lankan food is your go-to pick-me-up?
Thambili (King Coconut)
Q. Why do you think responsible travel matters?
Because it helps preserve our environment and supports local communities. The joy of travel should be mutual, benefiting both the visitor and the host community. Responsible travel ensures fairness, respect, and dignity in those exchanges. That’s what makes journeys meaningful and memorable.
Q. What is your favourite part about working with Blue Lanka Tours?
The strong sense of team spirit and shared passion for travel. There’s an infectious passion for travel experiences within the team. I love being surrounded by people who are equally enthusiastic about showcasing Sri Lanka authentically to its visitors. It motivates me to give my best every day.
Q. If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
I would reduce inequality and ensure everyone has equal opportunities. Too many people are held back by circumstances beyond their control, whether it’s poverty, lack of education, or social barriers. By providing fair access to resources, education, and support, we could empower individuals to reach their full potential. A world with greater equality would be more just, prosperous, and compassionate for all.
