The bungalow that houses Ellerton was built 100 years ago for a manager of a large tea estate. Located at 2400 feet in the misty hills of Kandy, this unique boutique hotel has managed to retain its period charm. The city of Kandy, tea estates and factories, the sacred temple of the tooth, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, botanical gardens and waterfalls are all within easy reach from Ellerton.
The Main House
The Main house has 3 guest bedrooms, double or twin, all with their own bathrooms. Two rooms have attached rooms which can be used as triples or family rooms. These also have a large sitting room and satellite TV.
The Valley House
Located beside the swimming pool with generous views down to the valley, it offers 3 large bedrooms, 2 double and 1 double or twin. The double bedrooms have large bathrooms with baths and walk in showers, whilst the double or twin has a shower. The huge veranda is a natural place to cool off in the shade.
The Garden Rooms
Garden Rooms are two self-contained bedrooms with sitting areas and bathrooms and their own private balconies with views straight down to the valley to the Alagalla Mountains.
Ellerton’s all inclusive room charges include all taxes, service charge and drinks throughout the day – tea, coffee, soft drinks and local alcohol – afternoon tea with cake, local phone calls and use of facilities such as bicycles.
