This one of a kind hotel in the historic city of Anuradhapura is set in a sprawling 50 acre property of natural wilderness, rock boulders, waterways, lotus ponds, ancient trees and carvings and statues. It is a serene and artistic architectural feat that evokes the 2600 year old past. Created by Baladurage Chandrasiri, the hotel merges the luxury of the 21st century to the grandeur of 4th century BC. The hotel is built on raised platforms 20ft above the ground to leave the natural wilderness of the land undisturbed. Concrete pillars and walkways that appear like solid stone connect the rooms to the restaurant, the pool and other facilities. This has allowed wild animals, including deer and elephants to freely roam the ground below.
Forest Rock Garden has 6 suites and 15 deluxe rooms. They are all 20ft elevated above the ground. All rooms have telephone with IDD, intercom facility, high speed WiFi and modern security features.
Guests have a choice of single, double or triple suites. Each suite is fully air-conditioned and furnished with a four poster king size bed, luxurious bathroom with hot water, 32” LED TV, a dressing room, a writing table, a dining area, pantry with toaster, and a mini bar. These also have a 20 x 10 plunge pool and outdoor plunge pool with two sun lounge chairs.
Single, double or triple deluxe rooms are fully air-conditioned and elegantly furnished with a four poster king size bed or twin beds, a fully equipped bathroom, 40” LED TV, dressing room, writing table, dining area and mini bar.
The restaurant at Forest Rock Garden serves only vegetarian cuisine in par with its peaceful concept. The hotel also offers guests a meditation retreat and an Ayurveda spa for spiritual and physical rejuvenation. The resort is also a paradise for bird watching.
