This iconic historic hotel is situated along the seafront of the Galle Face Green in the heart of Colombo. Originally built in 1864 during the colonial era, the architecture of the hotel is a thing of rare beauty. Over the centuries, it has welcomed royalty and celebrity, providing them with accommodation. Although the building has been renovated and is equipped with modern luxuries of the 21st century, it still retains its period charm. This ocean-front hotel is a rare find in a metropolis and, therefore offers a unique experience. It is also the first hotel in Sri Lanka to have appeared on a postage stamp, due to its heritage value.

The south wing of the hotel offers 84 rooms in the form of Superior Rooms and Junior Suites.
All 61 superior rooms sized 27sqm are tastefully decorated with traditional furnishings and details of the Colonial age. Twin and Queen sized beds are available among a host of other amenities. Rooms with the sea view can be chosen according to preference.
The 23 Junior Suites sized between 40 to 60 sqm are elegantly furnished with vintage décor. The rooms provide either a garden view or a sea view. There is also the option of selecting a room with a balcony.
