Leopard Safaris

Leopard Safaris by naturalist Noel Rodrigo is an award-winning eco tourism camping safari operator in the Yala and Wilpattu National Parks. The private tented accommodation offers all amenities and al fresco dining. Trained experts lead the game drives and the customised jeeps are fitted with camera support points and battery charging support for the convenience of photographers. The campsite also has various activities for the whole family.

Accommodation

The stylish mobile South African tents come in a variety of tenting options – single, double (twin), triple or family tents. They come with king-sized beds or two single beds for the twin tent, hot water showers, attached eco toilettes, lounge areas, fresh linen and towels, camera and phone charging facilities, safety deposit box, tripod, monopod and beanbags.

All tents are insect and water proof. A living area with camp chairs, roll down flaps for privacy, storage space for clothing, small bedside table, mirror, stainless-steel water bottles, and solar powered lighting are provided. Your private bathroom area consists of al fresco showers, changing area and wash basin. For those travelling with toddlers and babies, cots are provided in the tents. This is a non-smoking campsite.

A luxury wooden lodge tent for extra comfort and indulgence is available at Yala. It is furnished with quirky and stylish furniture, air-conditioning, state-of-the-art bathroom facilities and private deck sitting for candle-lit dinners.

Facilities and activities

All meals, snacks and drinks are served and are also included in the package along with National Park fees. Binoculars, umbrellas and rain ponchos are supplied. A wildlife library is available for reading purposes and animal identification with the experts for in depth knowledge. There are cooking classes at the site as well as bird watching, amature photography walks, wildlife walks and stargazing. Games and activities designed for kids too are available, such as animal footprint games, animal identification and amateur photography walks.
